Sustainable development of gender & health CBOs/NGOs in East Africa: way forward?
The May 30-31st event featured great sessions led by inspiring speakers and organizations. We enjoyed ourselves, exchanged knowledge, built connections, and, of course, had a lot of fun getting together with like-minded people. As Lightup Impact, we pass our gratitude to all who were able to join us online and at Chak Conference Center in Nairobi, Kenya.
Lightup Impact was on tour in East Africa during March – June 2022, visiting the top seven shortlisted applicants from the Lightup Impact Badge program.
The tour aimed at initiating collaborative research and impactful projects between Lightup Impact and the member organizations with donations that are jointly raised during the crowdfunding campaign.
Our mission
The mission of Lightup Impact is to help underrepresented voices and fight inequalities in health and gender in East Africa. We believe that entrepreneurial skills development, cooperation across sectors and exposure to the right networking opportunities is what will help these young organizations increase their visibility and impact.
Our vision
Only by exposing early stage social organizations to the right networking opportunities and know-how we can empower them to become sustainable and accelerate growth. In turn, their actions will have a greater positive impact on their beneficiaries – women and girls.
