Meet the Lightup Impact 2023 Founder Committee

Our first community-led election has wrapped up! Together, we selected 8 new Founder Committee members from Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania to help us make the most of this year’s Lightup Impact Days.

A big thank you to the 15 high-caliber candidates for taking the time to apply for the position and expressing a keen interest in being part of the decision-making committee. All candidates presented highly relevant and exceptional skills and experience, and a strong commitment to creating impact and social change. The Lightup Impact team would have been delighted to work closely with any of the candidates.

Additionally, we would like to thank the 51 Lightup Impact Community members who participated in the public voting. In this way, community members were central in choosing the candidates they wanted to represent their voices and wishes and those of the grassroots community at large throughout the planning, organization, and execution of the event.
